Following the internal user testing last month (blog post here), we’ve been working to improve the Kasabi marketplace and have started gearing up for a private beta soon. One of the things we’re planning beforehand is an invite-only hackday on the 16th of March.
We’ve invited a small group of experts round to our Birmingham offices to have a first look at Kasabi and put a select bunch of datasets and APIs through their paces. We’re looking for anything from visualisations to customised APIs and proofs-of-concept over new and existing datasets.
Some of the sets won’t have been seen before, other sets will be familiar, but given a new perspective in the application. We’ll be brewing up a pot of SPARQL-blend coffee and order in some pizzas to fuel the hacking, and have a group of Talisians coding alongside.
A couple of invitees are unable to make the day, so if you’re interested in an invite to the pre-Beta hackday, you can drop me a line on zb@talis.com or catch me on skype (zbeauvais).
Update:
The venue for this hackday will be at Number 43 Temple Row, Birmingham. There’s a Google Map of the event below. This should be an easier trek for most people, because we’re very near Birmingham New Street Station.

I’d love to go, unfortunately, the commute from California to Shropshire for one day is a tad tricky

Hi Hasan,
Tricky, but escaping the notorious Californian weather for a trip to sunny Birmingham would surely be worth it?
(Just a note, the hackday’s not in Shropshire, but Birmingham, which does have an international airport, but I suppose it is still a bit of a commute!)
There will be more info available soon as we built up and test out Kasabi.
Best,
