We will be joining the Mobile Monday February gathering in London to talk about data-driven mobile apps. We’ve been looking into this world, and investigating developers’ needs for useful data; and had a go just before Christmas at working on an app ourselves. So, to explore further, Kasabi are sponsoring the Mobile Monday on 13 February, and Leigh will be joining the panel lead by Matt Biddulph.

Mobile Mondays are free to attend, and there are still places available. You’ll need to register via their Eventbrite Page.

Mobile Monday’s site summarises the idea of the evening:

Using public and other data in mobile applications seems like a natural fit for lots of applications. And there’s more and more of it, especially since Tim Berners-Lee pushed for open data with his crowd rousing chant, “raw data now” at TED 2009 – making developers and data providers aware of demand.

But what’s it all about? There’s open data, commercial data, raw data, linked data, data marketplaces, data apps and data journalism … to name a few! Join us for a session with some of the top data professionals in the world today for a discussion on what it’s all about and why app developers and data providers alike should take notice.

The venue is CBI Conference Centre at Centre Point, and the entrance is at street level. Nearest tubes are Tottenham Court Road on the Central Line and Northern Line.

It should be a great evening, with plenty to discuss, and I look forward to catching up there.
